Smith - Ethel Ewen

Ethel Smith, 89, of Rt. 6, Crawfordsville, died Tuesday in Culver Hospital. She was born Aug. 17, 1886, at Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of Arthur C. and Olive T. Berrin Ewen. She attended schools in New York and married Percy T. Smith on Oct. 2, 1909, in New York. Her husband is deceased. Surviving are a son, Ewen H. Smith of Wayne, N.J.; a daughter, Mrs. Jeane S. Cochran of Crawfordsville; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Burkhart Funeral Home here with the Rev. Ronald Batts officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday. – jlr
